1 Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will you attack a man?
You shall be slain, all of you,
Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his high position;
They delight in lies;
They bless with their mouth,
But they curse inwardly.

All right, all right, all right. Welcome, welcome. It is Coffee and Devotions. We're going to give people a few minutes to jump on. I know it's late, but that's okay. So it is, let's see, it is March 14th, Sunday, March 14th. Sorry, we are Late getting this out. It's been a very busy day, but that's okay.
So we are at Psalm 62. Welcome to Coffee and Devotions. This is where every day we get together, we get into God's Word, and we grow in our love for the Lord together. And this year, 2021, we'll make it through all of the wisdom literature. And again, tonight we are at Psalm 62. This is a beautiful psalm. I absolutely love it.
Why don't we go ahead and pray and we'll get into God's Word. Father, we thank you so much for this day. We thank you for your Word. What a rich blessing it is to come to you before we go to bed. and to learn from you. Father, we pray that we would be built up in our faith and that we might have security for our souls.
In Jesus' name, amen. All right, here we go. We are at Psalm 62. Truly my soul, or to the chief musician, to Juduthon, a psalm of David. Truly my soul silently waits for God. From him comes my salvation. For he only is my rock and my salvation. He is my defense. I shall not be greatly moved. How long shall you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, like a leaning wall or a tottering fence. They only consult to cast him down from his high position. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.
My soul waits silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He is my rock and my salvation. He is my defense. I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory. The rock of my strength and my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people. Pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us.

God has spoken once, twice I have heard this, that power belongs to God. Also to you, O Lord, belongs mercy, for you render to each according to his work. What a beautiful psalm, isn't it? That God is our salvation, that it's the Lord who is our defense, that it is the God of the universe who is our rock, our refuge.
Men are but a vapor. We don't need to worry. If God is for us, who can be against us? What can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus? It is God who shows mercy. It is God who we can run to in times of trouble. And so it is God. Psalm 62 is all about this. I think the first two verses are so clear, right? Truly my soul silently waits for God. From him comes my salvation. He is my rock and my salvation. He is my defense.
I shall not be greatly moved. Christian, you don't need to be greatly moved when trials or tribulation comes, when famine or distress comes. For neither height nor depth nor any created thing can separate us from the love of God that's in Christ Jesus. It's God who's our rock.
He's our defense. And so tonight I pray that you're able to go to bed and sleep in peace. knowing that the God of the universe numbers the very hairs on your head. Let's pray. Father, we thank you that you have loved us so much that while we were yet sinners, you sent your Son to die for us. You have shown us mercy upon mercy, grace upon grace. You are our refuge. You are our rock. You are our strength and our defense.
Please press these truths into our hearts and give us a good night's sleep as we rest in Jesus Christ. In his name we pray, amen. May God bless you tonight. May you go with joy and peace. May you have a great night's sleep and I'll see you tomorrow. Hey, Karen, good to see you. Bye.
