over hey hey welcome to coffee and devotions this wednesday morning this is where every weekday morning at 9 00 a.m and on the weekends when i get a break from these little guys you and i we get together we have some coffee we get oh sorry we have some coffee we get into god's word and we grow in our love for the lord together and this year 2020 we'll make it through all the gospels why we'll go ahead and have some coffee pray and get into god's word you guys ready to have your team all right let's pray go ahead let's hold our hands god we thank you so much for this day we thank you for your word we pray that you would let your word pierce deeply into our hearts that we would know who jesus is in his name we pray amen okay john chapter uh 5 verses 36 through 38 so short one today okay ready guys but i have a greater witness than john's for the work which the father has given me to finish the very works that i do bear witness of me that the father has sent me and the father himself who sent me has testified of me you have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his form but you do not have his word abiding in you because whom he sent him you do not believe we're going to go ahead and read the next two verses too you search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life and these are they which testify of me but you are not willing to come to me that you may have life all right what's the first thing we need to ask ourselves a what is this about b what is the best verse that's right the best first to summarize and c what are we called to do all right so a what is this about so this is still jesus talking about what testifies and what testifies about jesus and who he is his miracles and his works right but do they believe the miracles and works of jesus nope they don't they think if they search the scriptures they'll have eternal life but what do the scriptures testify about jesus that's right you have to trust jesus but do they trust jesus that's what they yeah but the scriptures talk about jesus so they don't even really believe the scriptures right so what's the only way to have eternal life sin through jesus that's right so what do you think we are called to do what do you think we should do well do you guys believe that jesus healed the the man by the pool in betheada what about do you guys believe that jesus raised lazarus from the dead do you believe that jesus did many signs and wonders like turn the loaves into enough to feed 5 000 people do we believe that jesus died for our sins do we believe that jesus can make us whole do you believe it do you believe the good news of jesus christ do you believe that god himself came in the flesh and that jesus is the one who takes away our sins that is jesus christ and it's through him we have eternal life that's what the book of john is going to call us to again and again and again is do we believe let's go ahead and pray go ahead let's fold our hands let's pray god we thank you so much for this day we thank you for the blessing it is to believe in jesus christ lord we pray that you would work faith deep down into our hearts that we might believe with an everlasting belief father please let us trust the scriptures and all they prophesy and teach us about jesus christ and life in him in jesus name we pray amen well may god bless you today and may he fill your heart with joy and with peace you guys wanna say bye bye
