Joshua 19:49-51

well good morning good morning welcome to coffee and devotions where Ellie drinks all of her milk before we even start and I have coffee no I have water because I already drank coffee with one of my buddies this morning so I'm going to have coffee NOP water Cofe no no did you already drink your water your milk yeah well today we're going to talk about Joshua he gets some land what land does Joshua get I don't know you don't even got the Bible up you well we'll find out I've got a Bible right here let's pray first you ready God thank you so much for this day thank you for the opportunity we have to read the Bible together we thank you for being in a language we can read and understand God we just have a few verses today so please help us to understand it and encourage Us in Jesus's name amen all right no no don't touch that be silly all right here we go Joshua chapter 19 beginning at verse 49 you ready when they had made an end of dividing the land as an inheritance according to their borders the children of Israel gave an inheritance among the sorry among them to Joshua the son of nun according to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked for Timnath Sarah in the mountains of Ephraim and he built the city and dwelt in it these were the the inheritances which Eleazar the priest Joshua the son of nun and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel divided as an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord as a lord of the Tabernacle of meeting at the door of the Tabernacle of meeting so they made an end of dividing the country so for the last few chapters alel it's been going through all the different tribes so he went through all the tribes on the west side of the of the or the east side of the Jordan oh that's very loud on the east side the Jordan and all the different tribes see we have the other half tribe and then we have Ephraim and manasse Benjamin Judah Simeon zebulun isachar Asher neph Dan and now we come to there's one last person joshu Joshua himself dad what is true how did to count every single family in the world that'd take a long time but God knows all their names right but here's the interesting thing Joshua is a leader and he goes last do you want to know something interesting I have friends who were in the Army and do you know when the leaders in the Army eat after everyone else they'll wait and they'll be hungry and they'll let everyone else go before they eat yeah right it's a show support and honor to show that they're leading by example by being patient right by holding up those who they're leading and caring for them first before they care for themselves I think that's what Joshua is doing here so what do you think do you think it's good for the leader to be lording over people like give me all the good stuff first what's your leader do um give all the bad stuff first and then well maybe wait his turn for everyone else yeah yeah so God gave him all the land by lot so this was the finishing of the dividing by the tribes so they all got their inheritance all right so you know who I think shows us that type of servant leadership God Jesus himself just said that well you said God I'm specifically the second person of the godhead Jesus Christ all right you ready to pray I know you're you're sucking in your nose you're being silly you ready to pray yeah okay God thank you so much let's pray hold your hands please let's pray God we thank you that you have given us our Joshua our Jesus who leads us by example who though he was equal with you yet Lord he humbled himself and took on the form of a servant and even took on death even death on a cross for us thank you for his example of ushering us into your presence God please make us more like him in Jesus's name amen may God bless you as you learn to walk more and more like Jesus Christ and we'll see you next time you want to say byebye bye bye she gone
