Joshua 19:1-9

well good morning good morning good morning welcome to coffee and devotions this morning we're at Joshua chapter 19: 1-9 what is Simeon get let's figure out what his lot is you ready have some coffee all right we'll have some coffee we'll pray and we'll get into God's word nope just a little warm may even be a little cold by now it's been a while don't drink all my coffee you little Lush okay let's pray God we thank you so much for this day we thank you for your word we pray that as we read your word your Holy Spirit would please teach us what we're to believe what we're to do in Jesus's name amen oh you spoke coffee on my Bible oh boy oh boy now we're going to know forever that we were in that page all right here we go Joshua chapter 19 start right here at verse one the second lot came out for Simeon for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families and their inheritance was within the inherit of the children of Judah so they had their inheritance Beba oh here here's what we'll do we will pull up the map here because now we're talking about Simeon Simeon oh that's what exactly you see we just said BBA and so let me Beba is right here o here let me get my arm over here to make it larger beerseba right there you see that town of Beba yeah there okay all right here we go so Beba M haar Bala ASM elad bethl horma ziklag Beth makab harza sorry hazra SAA Beth labath and shuin 13 cities and their Villages a Ron ether and Asha four cities and their Villages and all the villages that were all around these cities as far as Bal beer Rama to the south of the South this was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families the inheritance of the children of Simeon was included in the share of the children of Judah for the share of the children of Judah was too much for them therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of that people wait Judah didn't want Simeon well no it's not that Judah didn't want Simeon but do you see how big judah's territory is it was huge all the way up here and all the way down here going all the way and all the way and all the way and so when the Lord's lot Falls to Simeon it falls within Judah the area somewhere in here so they did so they did want well yeah they're they're they're friends with their brother but they wanted it well they wanted it but there's a there's a was large right and so I think that might give us a good moral principle like we could share with people right when the Lord gives us some by our lot can we just greedily K it as ours like no God gave this all to me and you just shut up and go get your own nope no sometimes the Lord decides you could share right so the Lord decided no no they could share so that's what uh Simeon got so in my Bible I think verse one is what this is all about but I could see somebody underlining verse 9 also what about verse 10 well verse 10 starts talking about zebulun so I'll talk about zebulun next ver eight verse eight is about um the different cities and that those were those cities by tribe to the children of Simeon according to their families why don't you just do all of it I'm not going to do all of them I would never do something like that but what do you think what do you you think we're called to do as we think about Simeon getting his allotment I think we're supposed to sh I be like oh this my land you can't touch it okay so does this teach you anything about God and His Covenant or about Jesus and his grace or anything like that yeah they he gave them super big a plan so they can share it yeah so was God stingy with them nope no God was generous with his promise wasn't he yep yeah and then out of their promise they were able to then share with others yeah has God has God given us a lot so judah's brother a Simeon mhm yeah these were all the the each tribe was uh was a brother then why did they fight that but us because it sometimes you ever fight with your brother yeah yeah sometimes they when it sometimes I lo mhm but the point being right has God given us a lot and has he given us so much that we can share with others yep oh yeah absolutely we can give a whole bunch of others can't we what's the what's the most valuable thing we could share with somebody else God's word yeah God's word specifically the hope we have in Jesus you ready to pray and uh yeah okay and God we thank you so much that the Lions have fallen us to us in lovely places that you have given us an inheritance not just a piece of land in the Middle East somewhere but father you have given us Jesus Christ Our inheritance that's kept secure for us Lord you you know where we're going because you have given us your son your spirit and your promise help us to trust you all our lives in Jesus's name amen may God bless you may you walk in the joy and peace of Jesus and we'll see you next time bye bye
