Scripture Passage

Christ Heals the Nobleman’s Son

46 So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. 48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”

49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”

50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. 51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”

52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” 53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household.

54 This again is the second sign Jesus did when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.

Christ Heals the Paralytic Man

5 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. 5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

nobleman whose son was sick at capernaum when he heard that jesus had come out of judea into galilee he went to him and implored him to come down and heal his son for he was at the point of death then jesus said to him unless you people see signs and wonders you will by no means believe the nobleman said to him sir come sit down before my child dies jesus said to him go your way your son lives so the man believed the word that jesus spoke to him and he went his way and as he was now going down his servants met him and told him saying your son lives then he inquired of them the hour when he got better and they said to him yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him so the father knew that it was at the same hour in which jesus said to him your son lives and he himself believed and his whole household this again [Music] well this again is the second sign jesus did when he had come out of judea into galilee after this there was a feast of the jews and jesus went up to jerusalem now there is in jerusalem by the sheepgate a pool which is called in hebrew bethsaida what was the pool called that's sayadam having five porches and these like great multitude of six sick people blind lame paralyzed oh what's the word paralyzed mean what means they couldn't move at all they were paralyzed waiting for the moving of the water for an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water then whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was made well of whatever disease he had now a certain man was there who had an infirmity 38 years how many years 38 could you imagine being sick for 38 years yeah you would get tired of that when jesus saw him laying there and knew that he already had been in that condition for a long time he said do you want to be made well what do you guys think his answer would be yes yeah the sick man answered him sir i have no one no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up but while i am coming another steps down before me jesus said to him arise take up your bed and walk immediately the man was made well took up his bed and walked and that day was the sabbath day all right well two great stories we have for us today we need to ask ourselves first a what is this about a what is this about well what the what's the first story he goes to cana and there's a man there and he he asked jesus to help him with what his son his son right what's wrong with his son is is his son happy is his son well oh his son is sick what's he worried about with his son he might die he might die so why does he go to jesus why doesn't he take him to a doctor a doctor can't heal him but who can jesus can help him right jesus can heal him jesus heals this man's son does he even have to go to his house to do that no yeah he just says it and that very moment what happened with his son he got better that's right isn't that amazing that jesus has the power to heal people's bodies yeah well and then there's another there's another story right after this someone else is healed right jesus goes to jerusalem and there's a pool there and in the pool there's there's people who are lame and paralyzed oh ellie's bringing her own chair that's going to be noisy for a minute but as she's sitting there as the man is sitting there jesus is able to tell that he's been sick for a long time and what does jesus do for him do you want to be made well what would you say if jesus said that to you yes yeah right but the guy says but nobody's been able to take me down to the pool does jesus take him down to the pool what does he do instead don't go walk around that's right rise up take your bed and walk right jesus has power even over greater than this hey what is this about jesus has power to heal the best verse for this i think is uh verse 8 and jesus said to him rise up take your bed and walk and immediately the man was made well took up his bed and walked jesus has the power to heal what calling what what do you guys think we are called to do in response to this what should we how should we live our lives after reading this yeah we should not we shouldn't live our life by fear but live it by faith right we should change out our fear for faith right jesus can heal us jesus is the one who can care for us jesus is the one does that mean we don't have to go to doctors anymore oh jesus will take care of us no not necessarily but can we pray to jesus that he might heal us can we pray to jesus that he would send us good doctors who would take care of us that's right but jesus is the great physician jesus is the great doctor why don't we go ahead and pray this morning lord we thank you so much for your word we thank you for jesus christ we thank you for how you have cared for us and blessed us lord we pray that you would apply these words to our hearts that we would know who you are love you believe in their your son and that we might be made well not just in our bodies but with our souls forever in jesus name amen may god bless you today and fill your heart with joy and peace as you trust in jesus christ bye can you guys say bye
