Scripture Passage
The Acceptance of Christ
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Jn 1:12–13.
A — About
What Is This Passage About?
Those who receive Christ and believe in his name become God's children, not by human birth, will, or strength, but by God's gracious saving work.
B — Best Verse
A Verse That Summarizes the Passage
John 1:12–13
Distilled from the devotional exposition; the speaker did not explicitly name a best verse.
as many as received him to them he gave the right to become children of god to those who believe in his name who were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man but of god
The devotion does not announce an explicit Best Verse selection. Both verses are distilled together because Bryan's exposition centers on receiving Christ, becoming God's children, and recognizing salvation as God's gracious work rather than ours.
C — Called or Christ
C — Called to Do
Receive Christ and believe in his name, rely on God's grace rather than the strength of your faith, and keep seeking him in his Word even when spiritual discipline feels hard.
