Now the Lord had said to Abram, Get out of your out of your country, from your family, and from your father's house, to a land will that I will show you I will make you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. So Abram departed as the Lord has spoken to him. And law went with him and Abram was 75 years old, when he departed from her on. Then Abraham took Sarai his wife in law, his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Iran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. Abram pass through the land, to the place of Shechem Can you say check them? Then the LORD appeared who appeared that that's right the Lord. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, to your descendants, I will give this land and there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. And he moved him from there to the mountain east of Bethel. And he pitched his tent and with Bethel, on the west and I on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called the name called on the name of the Lord. So Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south. Well, we have three questions. You need to leave your house. You need to leave everything you know in love. And you need to go where I'm going to tell you to go you think that would be easy or hard? I think it'd be hard but he does it. And he makes him promises. Look, he says I will make you a great nation. Now that means that he's going to make him into a big huge people group. And then he says that he is going to bless him. Oh, you're being silly. Let's not do that. He says he's going to bless him. And then he says he's going to make his name. Great. Not small. But can you show me what great would look like? Oh, yeah, guy. He's God's going to make Abrams name. Great. That's right. And he says, And you shall be a blessing. Right? So different people who come into contact with Abraham, guess what? Guess what's gonna happen? They are going to be blessed because they know him. And he says, I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him who curses you and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. That means you. Did you know that all the families of the earth shall be blessed because this passage is about Abram. Abram Abram, receiving God's blessings and you you are included in that Did you know that? You're blessed, because you know who came from Abram? Oh, good God. Do you know who came from Abraham? Jesus? Do you get on art? Yes, God. And Jesus saves the nation's and so he has saved us because He is the seed of Abram and his God have a nation now a royal nation, a nation full of priests. Oh yeah, he does and his people. So, Jesus So Abram is blessed and Abram goes, he listens to the Lord. He believes the Lord. He goes to her he leaves her on this area Mesopotamia Dude, can you say that? That's a huge word reading. He leaves there he lives with his wife Sarai, and with his nephew Lot, all this stuff and in His servants, and they go to Canaan. And he says in verse seven, it says, The Lord appeared to Abram. God appeared to him. And he said, to your descendants, I will give this land right to his seed. He's going to give the land well, we're not it does say the word though. We're talking about the Bible right now. So God blesses Abram. And he promises to give him the land. Do you think Abraham deserved the land or did God just give it because he wanted to give? That's right. He just gave it to him. He didn't earn it. God just gave it to him. Is that nice? Yeah, it's really nice. And so what does Abram do? He builds an altar to the Lord, and he calls on the name of the Lord depends if you're playing golf one is better than three. So he calls on the name of the Lord. You know what the Bible says? Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Do you think you heard about that before? Yeah. And so he keeps on going in his path. Right. So this is Abram coming into covenant with God, God makes royal promises to Abram. And we know that those promises are fulfilled in Jesus. So what's the best verse to summarize this? Well, I would underline verses two, and three. I would also underline verse seven, as well as verse eight. That's what I have underlined in my Bible, but you could underline something else. What would you underline that you think it's the best, best verse to summarizes? Well, I think we're losing ally. So let's talk about seek calling. Do we believe in Jesus? Do we call upon the name of the Lord? Do we trust the seed that blesses the nations? Yeah blesses the nations That's right. Do you hold on to the promise that Jesus Christ is this promise seed, and that he has cared for you His people? Well, let's pray. Father, we thank you so much for this day. We thank You for Your Word. Father, we pray that you would please let us have faith in Jesus Christ. We pray that You would help us to love you to hold to your promises in Jesus's name, Amen.
