Deuteronomy 11:26-32

well good morning good morning good morning welcome to coffee and devotions we have our newest member of the coffee Club here Judah and this morning we're going to be at Deuteronomy chapter 12 the second half of the chapter the Deuteronomy chapter no no no I'm sorry chapter 11 vers 26 through 32 so Deuteronomy 11: 26-32 is about the curses and the blessing things in the Covenant so Judah you want some coffee no okay I'll have coffee I need coffee with you let's have some coffee we'll pray and get into God's word let's pray father we thank you so much for this day thank you for your word thank you for the blessing it is to get to read your word and to hear from you Lord we pray that you would please help us understand please teach us God in Jesus's name amen all right so Deuteronomy 11: 26 through 32 and behold I set before you today a blessing and a curse the blessing if you obey the Commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today and the curse if you do not obey the Commandments of the Lord your God but turn aside from the way say which I command you today to go after other gods which you have not known now it shall be when the Lord your God has brought you into the land which you go to possess that you shall put the blessing on Mount gazim and the curse on Mount ebol and they are they not on the other side of the Jordan toward the Setting Sun in the land of the Canaanites who dwell in the plain opposite gilgal beside the terbin Trees of morah for you will cross over the Jordan and go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you and you will possess it and dwell in it and you shall be careful to observe all the statutes and judgments which I set before you today well Judah when we read the Bible and we do coffee devotions we ask our solves three questions this is the ABC is a Bible study a what is this about B what's the best verse to summarize this and see what are we called to do so what is this about there's blessings and curses in the Mosaic Covenant so Moses is the one Speaking God made this Covenant with his people through Moses he's the mediator so we call it the Mosaic Covenant and he tells them when they go into the land when they go into the land of Canaan when they cross over the Jordan River there's going to be two mountains right next to each other and there's going to be a valley in between there's going to be mount ebal on one side and mount gazim on the other and he tells them when they get there they're going to read the blessings on Mount gazim and the curses on Mount EOL mhm and you know what they did it in Joshua chapter 8 they did just like God commanded they did conquer the promised land and they read the curses on Mount ebal and the blessings on Mount gazim it was a sign the Covenant because a covenant always has or normally has blessings and curses yeah so that's what this is about what's the best verse to summarize this well I have verse 26 27 before I said behold I set before you today as a blessing and a curse the blessing if you obey the Commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today verse 28 also and the curse if you do not obey the Commandments of the Lord your God right so there's blessings and curses yeah there's blessings and there's curses okay let's let's quickly wrap this up but see see calling we're called to love God but guess who kept all the Commandments Jesus did Jesus kept every commandment he was perfect yeah we're not perfect but Jesus is perfect in every way and so we get all the curses or all the blessings because Jesus took all the curses for us yeah he who knew no sin became sin for us that we might be the righteousness of God yeah so you should love Jesus you ready to pray let's pray God thank you so much for Jesus Christ thank you for the blessing of letting us follow you Lord we pray that we would still walk in your ways that we would know you and walk in Holiness in Jesus's name amen all right well thanks so much for in inviting and welcoming little Judah into the new coffee Club we'll see you next time bye
