Lord, thank you for this day and the blessing of reading your Word. We cannot give ourselves understanding, wisdom, or life; by your Spirit, teach us and give us light. In Jesus' name, amen.

Scripture Passage
Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified
11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” 17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

A — About
What Is This Passage About?
Levitical priests stand daily offering repeated sacrifices that cannot remove sins, but Jesus offered one sacrifice forever and sat down at God's right hand. His single offering perfects those being sanctified, fulfills the New Covenant, secures forgiveness, and ends all further sin offerings.
B — Best Verse
Which Verse Best Summarizes the Passage?
Hebrews 10:12,14,18
His child chooses verse 12; Bryan explicitly says verses 12, 14, and 18 are underlined, joining Christ's seated finality, perfected people, and the end of sacrifice.
C — Called or Christ
C — Christ Connection
Rest in Jesus' perfect and final sacrifice; no further offering is needed. Those in Christ are declared holy, are being made holy by the Spirit, and are kept by the sufficient holiness of Jesus for eternity.

just don't say anything about the dad oh good morning good morning welcome to coffee and devotions this morning we are at Hebrews chapter 10 Hebrews chapter 10: 11-8 Hebrews 10 11-18 more about Jesus and the sacrifices so Hebrews 10 11-18 let's have some coffee we'll pray and we'll get into God's word let's pray you want to pray or you want me to pray okay Lord thank you so much for this day thank you for the blessing it is to get to read your word father we confess to you that uh we by ourselves don't have the power to give ourselves understanding Insight or wisdom father we can't give ourselves life that's only what your spirit can do so father we pray that you would please help us teach us Lord give us light give us understanding in Jesus's name amen all right oh you got to grab your microphone oh Hebrews chapter 10 verses 11-8 why don't you read 11 through 14 and I'll read 15 through 18 sound good uhhuh all right go for it um and every PR priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices which can never take away sins but this man after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever sat down at the right hand of God from that time waiting till his enemies are made his foot stol for by one of one offering he has perfected forever those who are being Sanctified but the Holy Spirit also writes to us for after he had said before this is the Covenant that I will make with them after those days says the Lord I will put my laws into to their hearts and in their minds I will write them then he adds their sins and their Lawless Deeds I will remember no more now therefore there is remission of these there is no longer an offering for sin well we got three questions we need to ask ourselves a what is this what is this about B what's the best verse to summarize and see what are we called to do all right so what do you think this is about Jesus's death okay good Jesus's death good yeah so we've been Sanctified right look at verse 10 by that will we have been Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus once for all and compared to all the other high priests they have to offer sacrifices how often verse 11 every day every day and what's the conclusion of verse 11 with all their daily offering and sacrifices which can never take away sins but okay so the priest with their daily sacrifices can their sacrifices can never take away sin but this man who's that this man is talking about um this man is Jesus Jesus good and after Jesus had offered notice what it says but this man after he had verse 12 after the comma um what about J offered one sacrifice for sins forever whoa do you see see that how many sacrifices did he offer one not Infinity yeah not not again and again and again not Jesus being sacrificed repeatedly but one time right after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for that particular moment those particular people and nobody else is that what it says for everybody well forever forever right that one sacrifice was good enough forever right it's it's into the ages after he had made that sacrifice what did he do he sat down at the right hand hand of God now if a priest went into the holy of holies and the holy of holies is the Ark of the Covenant was the priest ever allowed to sit down in there just kind of hang out with God and be like Whoa man this is this a good this a good Throne I'm going to sit down just right next to you God no no never ever ever would Aaron or his sons any high priest ever think about going into the holy of holies with his sacrifice and sitting down and yet Jesus when he finishes his sacrifice sits down he sits down He makes himself comfy right no no the point is it's done and he's got Authority from that time waiting till his enemies are made his foot stol what's he doing sitting down well he's King make no doubt about that's what it means to sit down right he's sitting down on the throne and the enemies someday are going to be subdued for by how many offerings one he's made us just H okay perfect perfect perfect forever those who notice are being Sanctified Sanctified now this is interesting in verse 10 by that will we have been Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus once for for all so we have been Sanctified we have been declared holy but notice we are also right up here by that will we have been Sanctified perfect passive participle here now it's he has perfected forever those who are being Sanctified and so we're we're perfect as declared holy but now we're being conformed made more and more holy and so this is the whole point of the New Covenant this this this the he's pointing back to Jeremiah chapter 31 now in verses uh 16 and 17 and I love verse 17 their sins and their Lawless Deeds I will remember no more let me ask you a fun question can God forget anything so how can he remember our sins no more can the omniscient God go oh I just forgot Deborah sinned she hit her brother that one time no he forgets about it purposefully isn't that amazing he remembers it no more it's almost like he like if well if it was a human it would be you like a little cartoon somebody like taking out their brain and like taking away all the bad memories putting it back in something yeah right so he he purposely volitionally willfully decides I'm not going to remember forget it yeah right he that's that's his love for us shown in Christ Jesus now therefore now where there is remission of these there is no longer an offering for sin right because the sin's been dealt with don't need another offering this since been dealt with when was it dealt with 10,000 years ago no don't be silly here when was it when was it dealt with when Jesus died when Jesus died 2,000 years ago it was dealt with perfectly finally forever 2,000 years ago that should give us a bunch of Hope huh yeah all right so tell me right here what what do you think would you would underline as the best verse to summarize this um I'll give you a hand I cheated I underlined a bunch of [Music] stuff 12 okay yeah I have 12 13 and 18 underlined or sorry 12 14 and 18 underlined in my Bible okay so let's go ahead and go to application see calling what are we called to do how does this encourage you about Jesus Christ or how does this teach you about the Covenant we don't have to make any more sacrifices yeah we can rest in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus that's a wonderful application do you want to uh pray sure okay Lord please uh let us um love you let us uh let us uh know that you are the Lord of hosts and thank you for forgetting all our sins in Jesus's name amen amen well may the Lord bless you may the Holy Spirit Comfort your heart that if you are in Christ you have been declared holy he is making you holy and Jesus is Holy and enough to protect you for all eternity we'll see you next time you say bye bye bye
