But God made promises to Ishmael his mom Hagar that he would make Ishmael into a great nation. And did he keep that promise? Yeah, yeah, it says he did you did you catch that person by their towns and their settlements 12 princes, according to their nations. God had made. God had made Ishmael the father of princes, he had kept his promise. Hmm, does God always keep his promises? Yep. Let's keep reading. This is the genealogy of Isaac. Oh, we have a new person who who are we talking about? And who is that right here? Oh. Abraham's son, Abraham son, Abraham begat Isaac. Isaac was 40 years old when he took Rebecca as wife the daughter of Bisou all the Syrian of Phnom Iran Madonna ROM, the sister of Laban the Syrian. Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife because she was barren. What do you think that means? She was barren. That baby she couldn't have a baby. That's right. And so what did Isaac do when he when they found out that she couldn't have a baby, what did he do? He pleaded with God. How do you think someone can plead with God? By praying that's right saying he prayed. And guess what Daniel and the Lord granted his plea. What does that mean? actually did. Yeah, God did it. The Lord gave him a baby. That's right. 90 Nope. That was Sarah. That was his mom. And Rebecca his wife conceived but the children struggled with in her what will children what does that mean children in her children. Twins. That's right. And she said if it is it, if all is well, why am I like this? So she went to inquire of the Lord and the Lord said to her two nations are in your womb. Two peoples shall be separated from your body. One shall be stronger than the other. And the older shall serve the younger what's it called when you have to when a mom has two babies in her belly? Twins. So that's right. Can you look at the Bible as we talk? That's right. Okay, so it'd be triplets. So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth indeed, there were twins in her womb. Well, let's look at this part. First, came out, read what he came up what I read was, like a owl. Harry garment. Oh, all over. So, they called he is his name. You saw Do you know what you saw means? Harry. So why did they name him Harry? Yes, he's really happy because he was born really hairy. He was read all over it. He was really hairy. That's right. Afterward, his brother came out and his hand took hold of E saws he'll do you know what your heel is? Right there. He took his heel. That's right. So his name was called Jacob. Do you know what Jacob means? So planter. Yep, so planter. So planter means like always trying to get up one up on someone. Ah, yeah, Isaac was 60 years old when she bore them. So Isaac was an old man. 60 He was How old was the father Oh, he was oh, he was 100 but 60 is still pretty old to him. Nope, nope. So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field. But Jacob was a mild man. dwelling in tents. And Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game. Right? So you like hunted deer, turkeys and rabbits. Maybe stuff like that. And he and Isaac like to eat stuff like that. So he liked Esau. But Rebecca and the mommy. She loved Jacob. Probably because he was the one who helped out around the house and stuff was fast. Oh, maybe Jacob was fast but I don't know. So Jake had God forgotten his promise to Abraham? Yep. Nope. And had Jacob given the promise from or sorry, had Abraham given the promise all the inheritance to Isaac. Yeah. Yeah, he gave all of it and now No, no, that's a different story. But in the last part, Abraham had given all all this. No, no, no, this is Abraham. Abraham gives it all to his son Isaac, including the promises of God. And so had God forgotten his promise and Genesis 315 that someday the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent. No. Notice we find out here the promise still continues. The line goes on. Know what happens right? Can we trust God? Promises can we hang our hat on that? Yeah, what if I use this phrase? If God's promises were money, could we go and deposit in the bank? Yes, we could. That's right. We could trust God's promises. And has he has he kept his promise fully in Jesus. That's right. You ready to pray? I'm ready. Let's pray. Father, we thank you so much for this day and we pray that we would indeed trust your promises. Trust not your promises for themselves for their own sake But Lord, because you are a promise keeping God you are the one who has sworn upon yourself and they will not be left on done. So Lord, we pray that you would teach us to trust in you to love you and walk in your ways in Jesus's name, Amen. I don't think so. But they saw but they saw your your spider man.
