Main points
- Shall we keep sinning under grace?
- You are a servant to whom you obey
- Thank God for delivering you
- Present your whole self as a slave to righteousness
Summary
- Grace doesn't give us a license to sin. Jesus is our Lord, and we want to walk like him.
- You can't save yourself by your righteousness. God gives you Jesus' righteousness, and now you get to obey because you love him.
- Thank God for delivering you from slavery to sin and bringing you to believe his teaching from the heart.
- Present your whole being to God. Use every part of your life for his glory and grow in holiness.
Reflection and discussion
- How does Jesus' gracious treatment of Peter help you understand obedience under grace?
- Whose voice are you following in the ordinary choices of your day?
- Why does being declared righteous lead to obedience rather than permission to sin?
- What teaching about God's justice and grace moves you to thank him?
- How could you use your tongue, thoughts, hands, or strength for God's glory this week?
