Main points

  1. I am under grace, not law
  2. I am not a slave to sin
  3. I get the privilege of living to God

Summary

  • If you're united to Christ, God knows your weaknesses and deals graciously with you. He accepts you because of Jesus's perfect works.
  • If you're in Christ, you can choose not to sin. Fight sin because you love God more.
  • As a redeemed child of God united to Jesus, you get to present your body for his service. Use your gifts to bless others and bring God glory.

Reflection and discussion

  • When the fight against sin is hard, are you remembering God's grace in Jesus or measuring his acceptance by your performance?
  • How do you use God's Word to recognize when a good desire has become sinful?
  • How would reverence for God and thankfulness to him change the way you respond to temptation?
  • Are your words building others up and imparting grace, or tearing them down?
  • How can you use your mind, hands, time, and talents for King Jesus this week?
