busy day. I didn't get that chance to jump on here. So today we're going to do something a little bit different. We're going to have coffee and devotions here in the morning at 9 and then we're also going to have coffee and devotions tonight at 9 p.m. to make sure that we're able to get both chapters in so we don't fall behind. So why don't we go ahead and have some coffee.
We'll pray when we'll get into God's Word. Thanks so much for joining me today. Let's have some coffee and pray. Let's pray. Father, we thank you so much for this day and we thank you for your word. We thank you for what a rich blessing it is that every day we get to come to you. We get to read your word and hear from your lips. We pray that we might believe it and live it in Jesus' name.
Amen. All right, here we go. Psalm 76. To the chief musician on stringed instruments, a psalm of Asaph. A song. In Judah, God is known. His name is great in Israel. In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. There he broke the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword of battle.
You are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. The stout-hearted were plundered. They have sunk into their sleep. And none of the mighty men have found the use of their hands. At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse were cast into the deep sea. You yourself are to be feared. And who may stand in your presence when once you are angry? You cause judgment to be heard from heaven. The earth feared and was still when God arose to judgment to deliver all the oppressed of the earth. Give me one second. I'm going to go grab Ellie. You yourself are to be feared, and who may stand in your presence? When once you are angry, you cause judgment to be heard from heaven. The earth feared and was still. When God arose to judgment to deliver all the oppressed of the earth, surely the wrath of man will praise you. with the remainder of wrath, you shall gird yourself. Make vows to the Lord your God and pay them. Let all who are around him bring presents to him who ought to be feared. He shall cut off the spirit of princes. He is awesome to the kings of the earth.
Who's the great king, Ellie? I mean God. God? Is God the great king? Yeah. Yeah. And do you think people should fear God? Well if they love him, but what if they're bad people? Should they fear God? No. Oh yeah? Should bad people fear God? No. Yes. You want to know why? Because God punishes the bad. Yeah, the bad people's armies, you know what he does? He breaks their bows and breaks their spears. Yeah. Yeah, because God is the great king. Who's the great king? But it's the mean guys in Tommy's house. No, mean guys aren't coming into our house. God has protected us, so far from that. But, I have a problem. But, Mama went away. Mommy didn't go away out the window. You're being silly, but the Lord is good to us, right? Oh, we're really low here But the Lord is really good to us.
God cares for his people and he's the great king. He'll win the battles You ready to pray? God's a good God. Yeah, he he wins over the mean guys. You ready to pray? Oh Okay. Lord, we thank you so much for this day, and we thank you that you are the one who does perfectly in your justice and in your wrath. We pray, Lord, that you might care for us, for we were objects of your wrath, and you have instead made us your children. We thank you for the grace of Jesus Christ, and we thank you that one day you will return again and make all things new. We pray these things in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, may the Lord bless you today.
