Psalm 13

Hey, welcome to Coffee and Devotions this Friday morning, January 22nd. This is where every weekday morning at 9 a.m., supposed to be, and on the weekends when I get a spare moment from the kids, you and I, we get together, we get into God's Word, we have some tea or coffee, we get into God's Word, and we grow in our love for the Lord together. And this year, 2021, what will we do? That's right, we'll do all the wisdom literature. Why don't we go ahead and drink, and we'll pray, and we'll get into God's Word.

Father, we thank you so much for this day, and we thank you for your Word. We pray now that as we read your Word, that you would open our eyes that we would see and know who you are and your great love toward us in Jesus's name amen okay here we go psalm 14 to the chief musician to the chief musician a psalm of David. How long, O Lord, will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
Debra, can you read three or four? Consider and hear, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death. Lest my enemies say I have prevailed against them, but those who troubled me rejoice when I am moved. But I have trusted in your mercy. My heart shall rejoice in your salvation. Because, like, will you forget me forever? Yeah, will you forget me forever? What else does he say? How long will you hide your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will the enemy be exalted over me?
Sometimes can you be sad? Yeah, sometimes you can be sad. Sometimes does it feel like God's face is hidden from you? Yeah, and so can we cry out to God like David does here? Yeah, do you think Jesus felt this way at times? Yeah, right there were times when maybe when he was on the cross or maybe when he was getting tortured.
But, but what does he say at the end? I will sing to the Lord because He has dealt bountifully with me. That's right. Who can save us? God. God can. Right? Will God remember His people? Will God save His people? Can we trust in God's mercy? Will God's face always be turned from us? No. No, what does Daddy say at the end of every worship service? Right? I say, may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you. And be gracious to you. That's right. Can we know that God is gracious? That's right. What do you guys think we should underline in our Bible today as the best verse to summarize this? What do you guys think is the best verse? Okay, Nathan wants verse six. I'm gonna highlight verse five too.
So, but I have trusted in your mercy. My heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord because he has dealt bountifully with me. Well, calling C, what are you called to do in response to this? Trust in the mercy of the Lord. Rejoice in the Lord always. And again, I say rejoice.
