A Song of Praise for the Lord’s Faithfulness to His People
A Psalm of Thanksgiving.
1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,

so all right you ready okay well good morning and welcome to coffee and devotions it's where every day we get together we get into God's word and we grow in our love for the Lord together that's right we grow in our love for the Lord together and this year 2021 we'll make it through all the wisdom all the wisdom literature that's right well this morning we are at psalm 100 thanks so much for joining it's just my deborah dew and i this morning so why don't we go ahead we'll have some coffee we'll pray and we'll get into God's word Ready to pray?
All right, let's pray. Father, we thank you so much for this day. Thank you that we have the rich blessing of getting to worship you. Father, we pray that we might understand your word this morning and that you would bury this joy deep down in our hearts in Jesus's name. Amen.
All right, here we go. We're going to do Psalm 100. Psalm 100. Here we go. You ready? It's a short psalm, only five verses. All right, a psalm of thanksgiving. Make a joyful shout to the Lord all you lands. Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before his presence with singing. Know that the Lord, he is God. It is he who has made us and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture. enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise be thankful to him and bless his name for the lord is good his mercy is everlasting and his truth endures All right, so we need to ask ourselves a what is this about about be what is the best first to summarize this and See, what are we called to do?
All right. So a what is this about? What do you think? This is about Deborah? God God is Lord. Okay, God is Lord. And are we supposed to come to him like, I don't want it, I'm just going to praise you because you're mean and evil and you're just like, whatever, you're my king. Is that how we should come to him? No. How should we come to him? With thanksgiving. With thanksgiving? How should we serve the Lord? Like grumbling servants? No. What's it say in verse 2? Serve the Lord with? Gladness. Gladness. And when we come into his presence, how should we come? With singing.
Because we know that the Lord, He is God. He's God, that's right. What else does it mean? It means He made us, right? That's what it says. It is He who made us and not we ourselves. And we are what? And we are the sheep of his pasture. We're the sheep of his pasture? What do you think that means? It means he is the good shepherd and we are his flock. Do you think he takes care of us? Do you think he always watches out for us? That's right. And so we enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise for he is good.
His mercy is what? Everlasting. His mercy is everlasting? Mm-hmm. So you can run out of his mercy? No. No, you could never run out of his mercy. What about his truth? Does his truth end with, with maybe daddy or you? All generations. All generations? Mm-hmm. So great-grandma and great-grandpa knew his truth? Mm-hmm. And you know his truth? Mm-hmm. Do you think his truth will ever end? Mm-mm. No way, Jose. Alright, well, what do you think is the best verse to summarize this? I almost forgot to do that. What do you think is the best verse to summarize this?

All people that on earth do dwell, sing to the Lord with cheerful voice. Him serve with mirth, his praise foretell. Come ye before him and rejoice. Know that the Lord our God is, know that the Lord is God indeed. Without our aid he did us make. We are his folk he doth us feed. And for his sheep he doth us take. O enter then His gates with praise Within His courts your thanks proclaim With grateful hearts your voices raise To bless and magnify His name Because the Lord our God is good His mercy is forever sure. His truth at all times firmly stood. And shall from age to age endure. Yeah. Did I mess up a few times? Yeah, is that okay? Yeah, that's okay.
Well, why don't we go ahead and pray? Father, we thank you so much that your truth endures from generation to generation, that you love your people, and your mercy can never be exhausted. God, we pray that you might work in our hearts, that we might love you and seek after you all our lives, coming to you and worshiping you with joy. In Jesus' name, amen.
