17 Then Moses and Aaron took these men who had been mentioned by name, 18 and they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they recited their ancestry by families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, each one individually. 19 As the Lord commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai.
20 Now the children of Reuben, Israel’s oldest son, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, every male individually, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war: 21 those who were numbered of the tribe of Reuben were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 From the children of Simeon, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, of those who were numbered, according to the number of names, every male individually, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war: 23 those who were numbered of the tribe of Simeon were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 From the children of Gad, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war: 25 those who were numbered of the tribe of Gad were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

44 These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each one representing his father’s house. 45 So all who were numbered of the children of Israel, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war in Israel—46 all who were numbered were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

good morning good morning good morning welcome to coffee and devotions is where every weekday morning you and I we get together we have a little bit of tea milk coffee milk tea whatever you Happ to have we get into God's word and we grow in our love for the Lord together and this year 2024 Lord willing we're going to make it through Numbers Deuteronomy and Hebrews Numbers Deuteronomy and Hebrews have judges let's have some coffee we'll pray and we'll get into God's word yeah let's go ahead and pray father we thank you so much yeah I see your milk mustache let's pray father we thank you so much for this day we thank you for your word please father help us to understand your word please by the power of your Holy Spirit teach us this morning in Jesus's name amen okay so we are at you know the interes inter thing is the Book of Numbers you said I could see why it's listed as called numbers uh there's actually a lot more stories than there are numbers in the Book of Numbers I'm serious there are I know and so but when we first start out there are a lot of genealogies and numbers so today is one of those days where there's lots of names and so I just here's a trick with names you ready just don't stop right if you have a hard time with a name that's okay just keep on going all right so we're just going to take turns and I'll start we're going to read from verse 17 all the way down to verse let's see what 46 so it's not it's not hard right there's really what we're looking for just as you know okay when we go through we're looking for what tribe is this so what is the tribe and what is the number okay well 40 so we going to the mostly end of we'll let Daniel start with reading verse 17 then Moses and Aon then Moses and Aaron took those these men these men who had been go to war all who were number of War 63 63 3,550 okay so 6 3,550 men who were above 20 and 20 years old and able to go to war to go to war War does that sound like a small little Force no no we got over half a million men ready to fight is it funny um like you can tell how careful that person was counting when it's like it was like down to the like 10 and then sometimes it's like down to the thousands yep so I'm I'm not sure right cuz all of them are completely even numbers right uh to end up with 63,5 and you notice all of them ended with zeros right I think they are doing some rounding numbers right are they going to war yeah they're going to go to war where are they going to go to war against they came out of Egypt now they're going to go to they're going to go to the promised land right and they're going to have to go to war there so this is very important so do you think God remembers his Covenant do you think God is preparing his people for entering into the promised land and that's why he gave them so the people yeah remember the promise he had made to Abraham right Abraham go out right go outside your tent look at the stars of the sky count them if you can and what's he make a promise you your will be more those and these then the stars of the sky um Abraham only had one kid and then you have Isaac and Isaac has two but then Isaac has Jacob and Jacob has 12 and now we're 400 years past that and now we're talking about 63,000 right God's remembered his Covenant he's made into a whole bunch of Nations oh that's not only and that's only counting the grown men not the kids yes including the kids it's not including the women it's not including the old men who can't go to war anymore yeah the people who can go to war right so it's very interesting that God keeps his Covenant do you think God keeps his Covenant with us oh yeah the same way that God remembered his promises to Abraham and he was making it good is he able to make it good for us absolutely okay let's go ahead and pray it's been a long one God we thank you so much that your promises are are true we thank you so much that we can have faith in you we pray that we would trust you and trust your promises like our Father Abraham in Jesus's name we pray amen may God bless you may you know that he counts all of his people he knows who's in The Book of Life and I pray that you might know that
