Well, good morning, good morning, good morning. Welcome to Coffee and Devotion. This is where every day you and I, we get together, we have a little bit of... Coffee. Coffee. Milk. Tea. Milk. We get into God's Word. Milk. Milk. Water. And we grow in our love for the Lord together. And this year, 2023, Lord willing, we'll make it from... Genesis. Exodus. Leviticus. Nope. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus. We'll make it through Leviticus.
Let's have some coffee, we'll pray, and we'll get into God's Word. Okay, let's pray. Father, we thank you so much for this day. We thank you for your word, and we pray that you would please help us to understand it today. In Jesus' name, Amen. Okay, Exodus, or Leviticus, chapter 23, beginning at verse 23, you guys ready?
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, which month? The seventh month, on the first day of the month, which day of the month? The first. What's that, Daniel? The first. The first day of what month? The seventh. The first day of the seventh month, you shall have a Sabbath rest. A memorial of, ready for it?
Blowing trumpets. Okay, now let's finish listening. A holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. That's it? Do you know what this feast is called? The Feast of Trumpets. Because once a year on what day? The first day of the seventh month. The first day of the seventh month they were going to take the sofar and what were they going to do? Blow the trumpet. Right? Do you know what they call this day in Israel today? Rosh Hashanah. Do you know it? This is the Jewish New Year. Okay, that's enough. We only have seven months. Nope, they have more than seven months. So the lunar calendar works different than the solar calendar. But this is the Jewish New Year. So once a year, they would take a day off and they would celebrate a new year. And they would blow trumpets. And they would remember that God had been good to them. They only had seven months? No, they had more than seven months. So I'll show you a chart later with the different years or the different months that we're used to compared to the months they're used to, okay?
Alright. Okay, well, what do you guys think is the best part to summarize this? Blowing the trumpets. Okay. What do you think this calls us to do? Do you think that we should walk around the church and blow trumpets? What do you think it calls us to do now?

And the faithfulness of the Lord endures. You really like that song, don't you? Yeah! Yeah, right? Does the Lord sustain us every year? Every single year. Every day.
That's how we can praise Him. Okay, let's pray. Father, we thank you so much for this day. We thank you that you are a God who cares for us and who loves us. Lord, we pray that we would follow after you all the days of our lives. In Jesus' name, amen. Well, may you know that it is God himself who has redeemed you, who gives you life and breath in all things, who sustains your life. And may you enjoy him forever. I'll see you later.
