All right, well, why don't we pray. Father, we rejoice in you. And we thank You for Your Word. We thank you for your Holy Spirit and how you're working in our lives. God we pray now that as we read your word, that you would be active in us. Father, we thank you that you have made yourself known to us, our King, our father, our shepherd. And we pray that as we look up to you, you might let us know who you are, and that we might walk in your ways in Jesus's name. Amen. All right, here we go. We're at Galatians chapter six. Galatians chapter six, and guess we're gonna do bubba. We're going to read the whole chapter. Alright, so we're gonna split Yep. We're gonna split this up a few different ways again.

Well, how about you read 11 through 15. See how it's how it's a new section. So you'll do 11 through? Why don't you just do 11 through 18 I bet you could do that. Alright, so I'll do one through 10 You'll do 11 through 18 Is that good? Okay, here we go. Brother brethren. If a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted to bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something when he has nothing, he deceives himself, but let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone and not in another for each one shall bear his own load. So let's talk about this part first, right? What's What's this part talking about?
You should be if you see something else, that's a heavy burden. You should be gentle or you might fall into the same trap.
Yeah. So so close by the first part is if any man is overtaken in any trespass right. What do you think that means? If any man is overtaken in a trespass? Yeah, and as sin right, how are we to respond? to that person? With gentleness, and there's something else too, right. And you pointed this out. Also, being careful. Right? Right. We might be tempted, or you might be tempted with pride, you might be tempted with anger, you might be tempted with hatred, you might be tempted with a haughty spirit, you might be tempted with all sorts of things. You might be tempted that you're so worried about their sins that you forget what's going on in your own life, right. And so we need to be careful, but we need to bear what's first. To say and that's what you picked up on.
other's burdens and so fulfill the law of class.
Whoa, hold on here. When we bear one another's burdens, what do we do? fulfill the law of Christ. And what did Paul say was a summary of God's law. Your neighbor, right, love your neighbor as yourself, right? And so fulfill the law of Christ. Right? The whole law is summed up in these and so the law of Christ. Like we still have things that we want to do because we love Jesus. Right? And so, yeah, we bear one another's burdens. And so we need to be careful though. Right? Examine yourself, right? Do you do you want to act like you're super spiritual? If you're not? Do you want to act like you're really strong? If you're not? Can you get yourself in trouble if you do? Right, could you end up rejoicing someone else's work rather than taking care of your own heart? That's right. Okay, let's read six through 10. Let him who is taught this word share in all things with him who teaches, do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows that he will also reap. For he who sews to his flesh, will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sews to the spirit of the Spirit will reap everlasting life and let us not grow weary while doing good. For in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all especially to those who are the household of faith. Well, what do you think this part is talking about?

Okay, whoever knows the Bible, share it with others. Good, good. Yeah. I think that's part of verse six. I also think is talking about what the Bible brings up in other places about those who labor in the word should be able to live from the word right. And so thank the Lord, you are able to have shoes and shirts because Daddy teaches the Bible. And people pay me to teach the Bible that's a pretty awesome gig. It's one of the I think it's the best job in the world. Right? So I think that's what verse six is getting at. But do not be deceived. God is not mocked, right, whoever Are you reap what you sow. And so this is specifically talking about how is God going to treat us? We need to be careful that this doesn't end and works righteousness. But this is encouragement All right. We don't want to take chapter six. I was just listening to Roman Catholic apologist the other day and he was trying to take verse six and say see, we are justified by our works. But the problem is you have to ignore chapters 123 And part of four to be able to get that know what this is saying. Is that God's not going to be mocked. Can we just sin that gray should abound? What do you say? No. No, because we're justified by faith alone does that mean our works are worth absolutely nothing? No, no. What does God say is happening as we do these good works?

Yeah, we're making a good harvest. Right. And on the on the Last Great Day. All the stuff that we did that was just junk. It's gonna be burned away. And what's going to be left? The good things right, and will he reward us for those good things? Yeah, there's treasures in heaven for those things. And so he says, I have this I like this. Why like a journal Bible right? I have what's this about reap what we sow, don't grow weary and look for opportunities to do good. I think that that's what this is about. Alright. Hey, you want to read the next section? Verses 11 through 15.
See with that large laterals, I love watching with my own hands, as many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh. These would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution but the cause, of course

Well, not you will notice you are circumcised to have you circumcised, that they may boast in your flesh but God forbid that I should boast except in the class of the Lord, and Jesus, our Lord Jesus Christ, Christ, by whom the wall has been from search

Okay. So Paul kind of returns to what

right. Is this a lot of Greek letters really short? But as Paul been really good, he wrote this whole letter of Galatians is a big two book, big book, right? And so he's written this large letter and any kind of summarizes what his main thing is your what's, what's he getting at in this whole letter? Who's in Galatian? What are they trying to do?
People who are suffering and what are they trying to do? You? shock him sad circumstance. So
you're having a hard time with that we're not boasting. Yeah, well, it's one that they can boast. Number two, because they don't want to be persecuted.
They can see oh, yeah, this guy did it.
Yeah, well, they're if they're circumcised, and there are the Jewish people going to be able to say, Oh, they don't keep the law. So they're kind of just trying to get out of get out of dodge right, and try not to be persecuted. And so he says, That's not the way we're gonna go. Right? That's not the way it should happen. But what avails right? Is circumcision worth anything? Could it should people boast in their circumcision? Should they boast in their uncircumcision
avails nothing?
But what does avail? When a new create new creation, right? Remember, it was in his ego that God said that it wasn't their flesh that need is circumcised, but their hearts right. So is it is it just the outward things or is it the inward reality? And can getting circumcised in the flesh do anything? Nope. Who's the only one that can circumcise our hearts? God, right, so work of the Spirit that can do these things. Good. So let's go ahead and finish this up verses 16 through 18. Can you read this last three verses?
As as as many as well according to his rule, according to this rule? These mustn't be upon them, and upon that is upon the issue of God. From now on, let no one trouble me. For I bear in my body, the marsh of the Lord Jesus, but grace, all Lord, Jesus Christ will be your spirit. Amen.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. So how do we get peace and mercy?
By following the golden
rule, what's the golden rule? What if I don't love my neighbor as myself when you don't like yourself? Well, the problem is, is that I don't do that perfectly. So how do I get grace and peace? Right, but Jesus, notice what it said upon the Israel of God, upon those who are beloved by the father, chosen by the father, justified by the father, given the righteousness of Jesus, called by the Spirit effectually worked for salvation. This is the Israel of God. And if you're one of the Israel of God, are you going to want to love your neighbor as yourself? Yes, yeah. Yeah. And so he says, Let no and trouble me. Right. He suffered for Jesus. Well, there's kind of a few different parts here. Kind of four different sections.
It's kind of hard. And you're like one
Yeah, so So let's look at verses one through five and real quick tell me what you would underline in verses one through five

Okay, yeah, I like it. I would, I would definitely agree. Right. He says, don't grow weary of doing good. Sometimes. Can you get tired of loving your brother and sisters? Sometimes can you get tired of listening to mommy and daddy sometimes can you get tired of paying attention during the sermon? Sometimes can get tired of doing what is good. But do we reap what we sow? Is God mocked? Can we have the grace and peace of Jesus Christ? That's right. That's right. I would trust in Jesus and continue to walk in his ways. I think that's what we're called to do. Fix your eyes on Jesus Christ. It's not our own righteousness. But as we fix our eyes on Jesus and as the Holy Spirit conforms us more and more to Jesus we desire to do the law of Christ. And as we desire to the law of Christ, he's glorified. And we're blessed. And so we don't do it out of a slavish obedience, but out of a heart of love, even when we see other people sending, we're becoming gentleness, knowing that we're tempted this and also, let's pray. Father, thank you so much for this day. Thank you, Lord, for Your Word. For the blessing it is to follow You. We thank you for this wonderful book of Galatians for teaching us, of what you love, Please, Lord, let us walk in your ways. In Jesus's name, Amen.
