Scripture Passage
The Blessing of Returning to God
30 “Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you [a]call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, 2 and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3 that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. 4 If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. 5 Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. 6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
7 “Also the Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. 8 And you will again obey the voice of the Lord and do all His commandments which I command you today. 9 The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the [b]fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, 10 if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

C — Called or Christ
C — Christ Connection
Hope in Jesus, the only one who perfectly kept God's law and died for his people. Those reborn through faith should repent of remaining sin and live as obedient children whose obedience flows from love for Christ.

morning said I love caffeine and I said do you know that normally when you're with me I have decaffeinated for you right uh yeah but I I can see yeah maybe after maybe afterwards okay well today we're going to be talking about what it means for the people if they would repent does that sound good can you sit on this side of your chair all right so Deuteronomy chapter 30 the first 10 verses so you you want to read or do you want me to read oh let's pray first God thank you so much for the time that you've given us to be together to read your word Lord we pray that we would glorify you that you would would help us as we read that we would understand what you're telling us and that we would Lord that we would learn to be obedient children in Jesus's name amen you read this and I'll read it oh okay now it shall come to pass when all these things come upon you the blessing and the curse which I have set before you and you call them to mind among the Nations where the Lord your God drives you we down here and you return to the Lord your God and obey his voice according to all that I command you today you and your children with all your heart and with all your soul that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you if any of you are driven out to the furthest Parts under Heaven from there the Lord your God will gather you and from there there he will bring you then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed and you shall possess it he will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers and the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul that you may live and also Lord Our God will put all these causes on you on your that's a hard word enemies and on those who had your and all those who hate you and you will all all only obey the voice of the Lord and you will again obey the voice of the Lord commands which and do all his commands which I have commanded you to the Lord your God which I do me a favor put your finger there you're skipping words the Lord your God will make you abound in the all the all of your hand good and the Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand in the root of your body mhm in the increase your so this is a compound word livestock and it and in the the that's a hard one too produce of your land for good for the Lord will [Music] again Rejoice the Lord will again Rejoice over you over you good for good as he rejoice over you over your fathers you oy you if you obey the voice of L Lord you God if you obey the voice of the Lord your God to keep his Commandments and his statutes in the book of the which are written in the book of the law and if you turn to the Lord your God which you all you are and with all your all right so after the Lord's brought upon all these blessings and curses and they've gone into captivity because they forsook the Lord they went after other gods they did all that things is the Lord just going to leave them in captivity and say N N I hate you guys stay there forever what's he promise them prom that you then we give you what you need yeah he'll bring them back and he'll give them what they need that's right right what's that called if they were sinning and they stopped sinning they rep repenting that's right if they repent good yeah so that's what this passage is about right isn't that kind of God yeah he could have just wiped him away right forget you guys s the flood again yeah could have sent the flood again and killed all the Jewish people for their sins right but instead even though he might chasen them even though he might try to show them their sin and then punish them for their sin is is he going to utterly forsake his Covenant no no no he could just take like a bunch of Lees yeah yeah uh so in my Bible I have the best verse here well I've got a few verses underlined but I have uh verse six underlined the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul that you may live and then I have the last part of verse 9 underlined for the Lord will again Rejoice over you were good as he rejoiced over your fathers which one was that you think the whole thing would summarize the whole thing yeah okay well let's go ahead and talk about seek calling what are we called to do or how does this show us the Covenant or Jesus Christ the law and if you obey your get but you're not OB yeah can anyone in this life perfectly keep the law of God only Jesus only Jesus so is the is our hope that we could perfectly keep the law want to but is that what our hope is in hope God yeah our hope is in God right our faith is in Jesus Christ Our Hope is in God right but since our hope is in Jesus and our faith is in God right that's what first Peter talks about then if we've been reborn what are we supposed to act like a bunch of rebellious fools or obedient children obedi children yeah obedient children right because we love him obeying fools yeah we might act like disobeying fools sometimes but should we repent yeah yeah should we put to death more and more our sins mhm yeah all right you think that's good for today would you like to pray day today that way oh and and please hope that we won't dis amen what may you not be a disobeying fool as Daniel wants to put it may the Lord grant you obedience from a heart that loves Jesus Christ knowing that he has died for you loved you and kept the law perfectly you want to have some coffee and I'll say goodbye all right we'll see you next time bye
